There are several great places in and around Shaw to watch the election results this rainy Tuesday night: from newcomer Busboys and Poets in CityVista to Nellie’s at 9th and U, it’s sure to be an exciting evening. So where do you plan to be when we find out who our next president is?
Posted in http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#, restaurantsThis month, Busboys and Poets was kind enough to offer the second floor of their new restaurant and some lip-smacking finger foods for our meeting. I felt it was a big success and hope we can return their soon. Thanks, Busboys!
Our guests tonight included Chris Otten of the DC Library Dynamos, and ANC candidates Theresa Sule and Jessica Lanza.
Here are the meeting notes.
Posted in Meetings, News, Events, restaurantsSara B. just told me that Busboys and Poets is open right now, 10am, for breakfast… In case anyone else has been confused about their hours. I’ve been told twice by their staff that they open at 11am and they have a sign on their door that implies the same but I guess they were mistaken.
Posted in restaurantsLast night, we decided to try 1905 — the new bistro and bar on upper 9th — for dinner. All I can say is, “wow.” This place is awesome. And I mean awesome. Located on the second floor of the building that formerly housed Grape Legs (R.I.P.), the space itself is warm and interesting and […]
Posted in http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#, restaurantsI know we yearn for early morning weekend breakfast but we shall have to wait a few weeks. BBs will open at 11am this saturday & sunday. They did say they plan to change to 9am, maybe at the end of the month. That would be so much better…as another neighbor said to me in the grocery store the other day, I got stuff to do!
Posted in restaurants1905, a bistro already garnering a lot of buzz, opened last week on upper 9th Street, NW. As I have been away, I have not had a chance to make it there yet. Word is that this place is really cool and will be a great addition to Shaw. I can’t wait […]

Vegetate is again nominated in several categories. The polling ends today (September 30), so click on the box to the right and vote! There are several categories where you […]
