I Missed It, Too

I’ve yet to attend a briefing on the new convention center headquarters hotel, which is to be built on the block bounded by 9th, Mass, and L. As I’ve got several landscaping and home improvement projects in mind for this spring/summer/fall, I can’t wait to mingle with potential contractors, get some new ideas, and check out the awesome exhibits.Washington […]

This land was originally acquired to be part of the convention center hotel, which will now be confined to […]

The Human Rights Campaign (“HRC”) hosts its 11th Annual National Dinner at the convention center this Saturday night (October 6, 2007). The National Dinner is HRC’s largest gala dinner, and this year’s event is sold out (find out how to put your name on a waiting list for tickets here). Each year, the National Dinner’s […]

As construction will not likely start for 2 years, a construction watch for the new convention center hotel is a little pre-mature. But in the spirit of excitement preceding the Mayor’s formal announcement today at 11:30 at 9th and L, I figured I’d post the first of what I hope will be a photo-documentary of […]

It’s not a good press day for the convention center. First, as Anon pointed out in the comments, two articles appear in today’s Washington Times: one focusing on the Convention Center’s failings relating to its retail spaces, and one discussing a lawsuit filed by nearby businesses regarding promises made by the WCCA relating to grants […]
